AMA School of Medicine belongs to the medical school of the AMA Education System. The university has 2 campuses in Makati as well as Cavite. AMA School of Medicine, also known as AMASOM Philippines came into existence in the year 2008 when it was given permission by CHED for offering medical education. The college provides 6 years of medical education (2 years premedical known as BS course as well as 4 years of medical education known as MD course) for Std 12 students and 4 years of Bachelors of Medicine program for graduate students known as the MD course.
The AMA School of Medicine provides high-quality medical courses under the guidance of highly experienced as well as qualified faculty and state of the art infrastructure. The institute is well known for the MBBS and MD medical programs all across the world. The MBBS courses in AMA School of Medicine is quite different as compared to other countries because they are offered as BS-MD. Having said that MD does not mean that it is a post-graduation degree. The course is further divided into three parts namely BS, MD as well as work or internship. The entire program is of 6 years. BS is the foundation course which is divided into 4 semesters which can take about 1.5 to 2 years of duration. Now if you want to pursue MD then you need t to appear for a common entrance exam which is known as NMAT. This exam is compulsory for those who want to pursue an MD that is for another 4 years. Once your BS – MD you can apply for the internship programs for further training.
